This collaboration of nonprofits working to embrace the marginalized in our society and educate the community about the issues in our midst has been rewarding for both organizations. In this year’s intern’s own words: 

My name is senayt zeleke. I’m currently a high school student, but I’m also an intern at the SSIHC. I discovered about SSIHC at the Liberty’s Promise. Liberty’s Promise is created for young adults that were not born in the US or their families are from another country. This program helps students to be active and get involve in their environment. Their internship program gives us a chance to explore different kinds of career. I became interested in working at the SSIHC. My job is to help out in the office. It’s pretty cool to be able to work next to professional workers.
